Today, we’re introducing IGTV, a new app for you to share long-form, vertical video with your Instagram fans.
IGTV opens up a whole new chapter of video on Instagram for creators. Videos are full screen, vertical-only, and longer than those on Feed or Stories — up to ten minutes or more. You can share more of who you are with videos made for how people naturally hold their phones, helping build deeper connections with your followers.
IGTV makes it easy for your fans to find your channel and engage with your videos. People can search for your videos using your Instagram username or real name, or they can access your channel from your Instagram profile. And just like they can on Instagram, they can like and comment or share your videos with other fans in Direct.
Getting started is easy. From IGTV, tap the Settings icon to create your channel. Then upload your vertical video on IGTV from the Instagram app, the standalone IGTV app, or even from the web. Your video description can include links, and you can cross-promote your videos through Stories. If you have a Facebook Page, you can automatically cross-post your video from IGTV.
IGTV brings a whole new way for you to get closer to your fans and engage with the community. We've only begun to imagine what it can become, and we can't wait to see your videos.

As well as more ways to connect with your existing fans, IGTV gives you more opportunity to be discovered by new ones. When people open IGTV, they'll see multiple channels including “For You,” “Following,” and “Popular,” filled with videos from creators they already follow on Instagram and others they might like based on their interests.
