Optimize Your Content Publishing On Facebook

Optimize Your Content Publishing

We've found that creators who consistently post their videos once a week or more tend to be more successful at building an engaged audience. Let's go over some publishing tactics that can help you master your production cycle!
Create Habitual Viewership

Pages that produce videos on a steady schedule tend to be successful at setting viewer expectations and ultimately getting viewers to come back on the regular. Aim to share at least one or two videos a week and post something every day to keep your fans engaged.

The more people seek out your Page and videos, rather than just “stumble” upon them, the stronger a signal to Facebook that you're producing content people want to see!

Here are some questions to ask yourself as you plan your publishing frequency:
Does watching one video likely compel viewers to watch more videos from your Page?
Is there a theme, concept, or personality that connects these videos?
Do you publish regularly enough that viewers have a clear expectation of when to come back for a new video? Is it daily or weekly?

Make a Calendar

With a calendar approach, you can create opportunities for your fans to continuously engage with your page. In between video posts, you can include blooper reels, set photos, video stills, memorable behind-the-scenes moments in the form of photos, video or text, as well as interviews, teaser videos, GIFs and Live Q&As with fans about your videos. This will give your fans something to chew on while they wait for your next video.

Here's a sample calendar:
Monday: Post behind-the-scenes content in a Facebook story
Tuesday: Tease Wednesday's video.
Wednesday: Release a new video.
Thursday: Promote tomorrow's live video.
Friday: Go live with a Q&A video.
Saturday: Tease Sunday's video.
Sunday: Share your next video

Facebook Stories

Your Facebook story is a great tool for connecting with your audience and publishing content between your scheduled video posts. Here are some ideas for using your story to support your publishing schedule:
Create a Facebook story while filming or editing, and tell fans to follow your Page for more.
Clip a standout moment from your latest video and add it to your Facebook story.
Promote your videos using photo or story content to help build excitement for the next video and to drive people to your Page.
Uploading and Organizing

When you're putting the final touches on your videos, consider these important tips to help people find and enjoy them, both in News Feed and in search results:
Video title and description: Add a title that hooks fans in and an accurate description so fans know what the video is about.
Music and sound effects: Get creative with our curated music and SFX from the Facebook Sound Collection.
Captioning: Build a broader audience by adding short captions. Here's how. Since most videos in News Feed are viewed without sound, it’s important to convey your message visually. Showing your captions, logos and products can help communicate your message, even in silence.

Once you've uploaded a few videos, it's really helpful if you organize them. This way, fans who visit your Page can find what they like. There are two ways you can do this:
Spotlight Videos: Welcome people to your Page by selecting specific videos to feature at the top of your Page. Simply click “Add Spotlight Video” and choose your video.
Playlists: Playlists help people find your videos, based on common themes or topics. To make a playlist from the Video section of your Page, tap the “Create Playlist” button, add a description, and select your videos.

Create content in batches so you have multiple videos ready to go. If you upload back catalog content, make sure it's edited appropriately so it's properly customized for Facebook. If the content isn't timely, set expectations with your audience via your description or title so they know it's a throwback.
Stay Consistent

Keep your publishing schedule consistent to build a community around your videos! Once your fans know when and where to find your content, they'll start visiting your Page regularly to watch your videos, and engage with other fans.
